The Last of the Snow

The snow looks so beautiful from afar.
I took these photos from the window of my apartment a few weeks ago when we had the last snow storm of the season. The temperatures are slowly rising now and most of the snow is gone, but there is nothing like seeing snow fall from your home while you are cozying up in a blanket. Everything looks so pristine and pure white when the snow first falls. These photos will serve me as a reminder of just how lovely snow can be.

Lately

I wanted to do a different type of "lately" post and give you an update on what I've been up to, so here we go.

Watching - My fiancé and I have been really into watching space and astronomy documentaries. It's crazy how much I am learning that I had no idea about, (in case you didn't know but I am a big astronomy nerd) I have also have been watching Parks and Recreation on Netflix which I mostly watch when I am knitting, it is pretty funny and reminds me a lot of The Office, one of my favorite shows.

Looking forward to - getting married this Spring! I am so excited to be marrying my boyfriend of 10 years, it is about time we tie the knot right? We are doing a destination wedding so I will definitely be sharing some photos with you soon.

Drinking - lots of green smoothies or as I like to call them, detox shakes. I mostly drink these on the weekend when I need to detoxify my body of all the heavy foods that winter makes me crave. I will most probably share a post on my green smoothies soon, I love making them!

Working on - knitting, knitting, knitting! :) I am still knitting away scarves, I find that always working on your craft keeps you motivated and helps with coming up with ideas. I am also working on new knit ideas for spring and summer which I am really looking forward to. Picking new colors and yarns for a new season is a fun part on its own.

Exploring - photography, I have always loved capturing moments and taking photos of details and places that I come across. I want to just get out there and start taking photos of things that capture my eye, random moments of times spent with my loved ones, and just anything that I find interesting along the way. Some of images will most probably make it on to this blog, it is something that I really want to incorporate here. Visual depictions of moments in my surroundings is something I would like to share on my blog.

Hi guys, I wanted to do a different type of post today to kind of let you know what I have been up to and to get a little bit more personal and raw on my blog.

I have so many things and ideas on my mind constantly that it is crazy and sometimes I wonder how I can keep up with myself. For me, it's a good thing though (honestly). If I wasn't thinking of ideas or coming up with projects constantly, I think I would be super bored. I am just a really indecisive person, one day I want to do this and another day I want to do that. It is a hard thing to do, to find your passion. I have been constantly struggling with this for some time now. I just want to find something that I absolutely love doing. I want to do something where I am up till late hours of the night diving away and would not even mind for a second. For me it's a matter of finding that something that I want to do, it's not about not being able to do it. I have always been a dreamer and believe that anything is possible. If you put your mind to it, it will happen.

I keep thinking about how to proceed with this blog of mine and what kind of posts I should be doing. I love blogging, it's my outlet of creativity as opposed to what I do everyday for a living. I love doing outfit of the day posts but the weather and time seem to not be by my side all the time. I keep wondering how other bloggers do it, especially if you live in a cold place, let me know yea? :-) I want to share my interests and what I am currently craving, and my outfits as well. I love putting outfits together, it's like being a stylist in the fashion world but for yourself and without the pressure of others.

I also love creating. Creating and being creative seems to be something that I always lean to. It is something that makes me feel alive. I want to put more thought and effort into my Etsy shop and sort of bring a different look to it and add more product options. It is about that time that Spring is approaching so something that is on the back of my mind recently is that I want to offer other items that are appropriate for this season. These are a few of the things that I am contemplating on working on soon. There are other different things that I would like to do, I just love so many things!

Well...my grandma picked my name, she is very religious so she wanted to incorporate Christ into my name and she came up with Christel!

I think it might have been last month when I was watching a sad movie

Not yet, really want to get a dog soon though if that counts :)

Yes! I am very easy going, love to laugh, and very loyal

The Real Housewives of everywhere! haha my favorite is the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Will makes fun of me when I watch this show

I like other people's handwriting, but my handwriting is kind of sloppy so I rather type :)

I don't really eat cereal, I eat granola instead with some yogurt and fruits..tastes so good!

8. What is the first thing you notice about people?
Their smile! I love it when others smile, even if they are complete strangers and they just smile at you for no reason

Brown

10. Scary movies or happy endings?
Happy endings, I love comedy movies so yeah I rather have happy endings

I like so many! I am definitely one that watches way too many TV shows so naturally I can't just pick one favorite, but here are my top five: Big Bang Theory, Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, True Detective

I LOVE summer

14. What's the furthest you've been from home?
When I went to Peru to visit some of my family that lives there

I guess if you count knitting then yeah that would be my special talent and making all kinds of different crafts

I was born in Peru and came to the US when I was very little and been here ever since

17. What are your hobbies?
I have so many - some of them are knitting, making jewelry, searching for new music (I love all kinds of music)

Not at the moment

I don't really have a favorite movie now, but growing up I can tell you my favorite movie was E.T.

White

21. What did you wanted to be when you grow up?
I wanted to be an astronaut and an art teacher, not sure how those two were gonna work out in conjunction

With the beginning of spring comes a lot of shopping as you can see :) I am super excited that Spring is finally here. I feel like I talk a lot about the weather all the time but it is something that it's part of our every day lives and that alters how I feel and what I wear (obviously). With the warmer weather, I am looking forward to eating healthier and getting exercise. I can't say that I am the most fit person, so going out for walks or running is something that I am really looking forward to. Eating healthier also comes with spring. I have always been curious about being vegan and eating only raw fruits and vegetables, so my fiance and I will be doing a cleansing weekend only eating the most freshest produce we can find. This will be a challenge for us but that makes it all that better and will also make us healthier even if it's just for two days. I would like to know what you guys are looking forward to doing for this spring/summer :)

It has been wayyy too long!
Hey guys! I have been absent from my blog for almost 3 weeks and I have to say I have missed blogging and interacting with you guys! I hate saying excuses BUT I guess you can blame me being sick for about a week and the ridiculous winter we have been having. If you live somewhere in the US where you have winters, you know what I am talking about and you might feel my pain (and anger) due to the weather. It was kind of hard taking outfit of the day pictures when it was below 20 degrees and snowing all the time, and to be honest I just was not inspired to write about anything else. Enough about that, I am back and have been gathering ideas for posts other than outfits. I have to say though, outfit posts are my favorite but variation is always good. I figure I get to share with you guys all of the other things that interest me like these photos of some of the things I have been up to lately. ALSO, I have been thinking about a name change for the blog. I finally came up with a name that I really love and know I will like for a really long time (since I am very indecisive), look out for that soon. Valentine's Day Gifts

Here are some of the gifts my fiance got me for Valentine's day. I loved these gifts so much because it is pretty much a recipe for relaxation. I am a lover of teas and this set is for sure going to make it that much more fun to drink a cup of tea at night. This Numi tea set brings different leaves to custom-make your own teas and it also comes with a booklet filled with recipes. As far as the candles go, each one of them smells so amazing. However, my favorite has to be orange blossom scent. These candles are small in size but they will definitely make the whole room smell fantastic, even when they are not on. I just love these gifts, they are right up my alley. You did good fiance :)

Hello 2014!

Happy New Year guys!! I wish you all a great 2014 and hope that all of your goals are met and all your dreams come true in this year. I don't really make resolutions ever, I just like to go with the flow I guess, and always take things as they come. Merry Christmas

I hope you are having a wonderful Christmas with all of your loved ones. My family celebrates Christmas by having dinner on the night of Christmas Eve and then we proceed to wait anxiously for midnight to open up our presents. Do any of you guys celebrate Christmas this way? I am so thankful to be celebrating yet another Christmas with my loved ones and being fortunate enough to receive and be able to give out presents. My First Year Blogging!

I made it! haha One year ago I decided to finally start a blog, after contemplating for a long time and saying, "should I do it?" I am sooo glad I decided on this day one year ago to start my little blog Christel Paola. I never mentioned this before but my name is Christel and my middle name is Paola so when I couldn't decide on a name for my blog at the time, I just used my name! I honestly love blogging more and more each day and checking out your blogs as well; I am so glad I am a part of this community of fashion bloggers. Thanksgiving

For me Thanksgiving is one of those holidays (like Valentine's day), that it's fun to celebrate but in reality one should be thankful every single day of the year. Don't get me wrong, it is a festive day to spend time with family and eat large amounts of good food, but I just always ponder about the little, great things in life. I am always grateful to be healthy and have amazing people that I love surrounding me. Whenever problems get me down, I always think about the good things in my life and realize things could be so much worse.
