Lately

Hey guys, here are some snapshots from the things that have been inspiring me lately. As I mentioned before, I am a knitter. I just love knitting, it helps me to relax and I love shopping for yarn and seeing all the different colors and textures. I am almost done with this scarf and cannot wait to wear it, I really must finish it before the winter is over :) However, I don't think this winter is leaving anytime soon as it is really frigid cold here in the east coast. The above is just a portion of the snow that we have been getting these past weeks. The snow looks so pretty though, I can't deny that. Now, let's talk about these boots! I just got this pair of leopard booties which I loved as soon as I saw them, I cannot wait to style these. I also included my favorite pair of Jeffrey Campbell boots because as you guys know I am loving black boots :) I hope you enjoyed a glimpse into what I have been into lately. Thanks for stopping by! xo

Black Boots

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6

As I mentioned in my Winter Essentials post, I have been wearing some form of black boots every day pretty much since the winter started. I did, however just ordered some leopard printed booties so maybe they will break me out of my habit. Since I know I will be wearing black boots all the time even throughout the summer, it does not hurt to browse and shop for additional styles. Here are some that I have been eyeing recently, let me know if you are in a black boots rut like me :)

Brandy Melville cropped sweater | Brandy Melville skirt | Jeffrey Campbell boots | Urban Outfitters hat

Basic pieces are my favorite at the moment and Brandy Melville pretty much always hits it on the mark with basic, effortless clothing. The great thing is that I can wear these pieces with so many other things from my closet and do not have to worry about if I can't match it with anything else (as some of my usual printed, brighter pieces). A little bit about my day yesterday, the boyfriend and I went to finally watch Catching Fire (I know, I know, super late). We just watched the first one so naturally, we had to go watch the sequel as it was still in theaters, and it was incredible. Really thinking about starting to read the books, have any of you guys read the books or like the movies? Anyway, I hope you all had a great weekend :)

My Winter Essentials

My Winter Essentials

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9

Winter is in full speed and having these essentials is going to make this winter go by more smoothly. Having the usuals such as a scarf, beanie, and gloves is a must for winter. However, I think having some extras just makes everything better and makes having to bear the cold much easier. I love burning candles all the time but especially in the winter, it just makes my house feel really cozy. Since we are all bundled up, having accessories such as rings and a sparkly nail polish will definitely help in improving my mood. Wearing cute socks is also one of my favorite things to do. These fleece-lined tights are a staple in my wardrobe whenever I feel like wearing skirts or dresses, they work so well in keeping my legs warm. Another thing that I am loving this winter are black boots, I am pretty sure I have only been wearing black boots every day this winter. So here are some of my winter essentials, what are yours?

Red Tartan

Forever21 Top | Urban Outfitters Jeans | H&M Coat | Steve Madden Boots

Hey everyone! This is a casual outfit I wore this Sunday on a windy day. My hair was pretty much going all over the place! haha I had no idea it was going to be so windy today. Anyway, my fiance and I went on a little froyo (frozen yogurt) date today. I know it's cold and everything, but sometimes you just have to go for it. It's the little things in life that keep me looking forward to the weekend after a long week of working. I love doing little things like these especially in the winter when the weather can tend to mess up your mood. I hope you all had a lovely weekend and thanks for stopping by! :)

Like a Boy

I have always been a lover of slouchy, oversized clothing. With the combination of tailored pieces, it is bound to be my go to outfit. One of my inspirations for outfits that I am sure a lot of you have also been inspired by is menswear. I love the tailored yet cool approach I have been seeing in mens style.
Macklemore's style is sometimes over the top but I love the colors that he wears and his originality in putting outfits together. Bruno Mars' style is a mix between island and vintage, who doesn't love that? As far as Harry Styles, I don't really like One Direction's music (don't hate me!) but I have to admit his style is pretty cool, I just can't pin point what is it about his style that I like. Enjoy the pictures and let me know if you get inspired by menswear and whose's style you like!

Top Coat

Winter Coats

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6

I am staying in this whole weekend as it is freezing cold outside and we got hit with a snow storm! (which means no outfit of the day post) All I've been doing is watching movies, burning candles, knitting, and just lounging around. It got me thinking that I always rotate between 2 coats in the winter which can make dressing up kind of boring during these months. I decided to get some inspiration online to see if I can spice up my daily dressing-up-in-winter routine.  I came out with these coats as depictions of some of the trends that I am currently loving. Parkas are a must if you live in a place (like me) where it snows or gets freezing cold. I always have a parka for the winter as the hoodie with fur comes in handy and keeps you warm all the time. I am also loving big oversized coats with fun prints. I normally would not wear coats with all-over faux fur but something about them have been catching my attention lately.
How are you keeping warm this winter?

Hello 2014!

Happy New Year guys!! I wish you all a great 2014 and hope that all of your goals are met and all your dreams come true in this year. I would like to thank all of you guys for your lovely comments and for reading my blog this past year. I don't really make resolutions ever, I just like to go with the flow I guess, and always take things as they come. I do, however, want to have more positive energy and continue to be more optimistic this year. I just feel that this makes all the difference in the world! I would also like to wish you guys all the happiness and love and hope you had fun celebrating! :)
